We are very pleased to say that this year Cripplegate Ward Club has been invited to join the Master's Livery Company, The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries &
Administrators for a joint Carol Service. Also attending will be The Worshipful Companies of Gold & Silver
Wyre Drawers and The Clockmakers, together with the Company of Educators. The event is being organised by the Clockmakers'
Company whose parish church is St. Giles, Cripplegate, which is of course, our own
parish church.
The service will commence at 6.00 p.m. and will be the familiar one of
Lessons and Carols, with outstanding choral music. The collection will be on behalf of the Renewal
Programme's night shelter for the homeless in Stratford, E15.
After the service The Cook and Butler will serve a hearty buffet supper "in the aisles" of the church, with
soup, main course, mince pies and wine.
It is hoped that many members and their guests will attend this festive service in what should be a very
Christmassy atmosphere!
The cost of the evening will be £35.00 per head for the Service and Supper. The charge includes
wine and soft drinks. Please make all cheques payable to "The Clockmakers Company" but send them to Barbara AlIan as usual.
Tickets will be sent out in late November. We are expecting to be able to accommodate everyone but with
several groups participating the church is likely to be quite full and applications will
be dealt with on a 'first come, first served' basis.
Please make your reservations by Friday 20th November 2009. Please note that refunds for
cancellations after this date cannot be given.
