Amongst the high-rise office blocks of the square mile can be found the most wonderful array of open spaces and gardens, some large, others tiny.
Stand on any street corner and your eye will be met by flowers, trees, planters, window boxes and all manner of greenery. This walk will enable us to explore the floral beauty of the City and has a selection for everyone. |

Chris Ruff, who is a City of London Guide and also a member of the Ward Club, has kindly agreed to lead an evening walk to view some of the City's gardens.
Chris was born in the Old Royal Free Hospital on Liverpool Road, Islington and has lived in the Clerkenwell part of the borough all his life. He completed the Clerkenwell and Islington and City Guides Courses and became a guide at St. John's Gate in
Clerkenwell. He is a member of the Clerkenwell & Islington Guides Association, an Institute of Tourist Guiding Registered Guide, has been Chairman of the City of London Guide Lecturers Association and is also one of the appointed Wembley Stadium Guides. As well as being a Freeman of the City,
Chris is a member of the City Heritage Society and is also a voter for BT in the Ward of Cheap in the City of London elections. From the foregoing, you will realise we should have a very interesting and knowledgeable evening. |
