"STRIDENT ENTERPRISES LIMITED"

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PARTNER

Strident Enterprises is a UK company specialising in international business and is under the control of Tony Stroud. It has now been operating for some seventeen years and has good business relationships and representation in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, USA, China, Taiwan, Japan and Australia. It also has close connections in other parts of the old USSR, especially in Ukraine and in the Baltic countries.

The company's business is divided into four main areas:-

    1. Trading
    2. Representation
    3. Investment/Financial Management
    4. Education/Legal Guardianship Service

Whilst Strident is the core of Tony Stroud’s operations, because of confidentiality and in order to keep control of matters other companies are in place to operate specific businesses. This ensures separation of activities and confidentiality, especially in the financial and investment sectors. These companies are not part of a group and are independent from Strident Enterprises, but Strident Enterprises has initiated businesses which they now operate.

Trading

In Hong Kong Strident works in close co-operation with Strong & Partners Holdings Ltd in sourcing consumer goods and related products from China for export to the old Soviet Union area. There are also some exports to the UK. Goods are sourced on a worldwide basis, and especially within the countries mentioned above.

Strident’s main markets are Kazakhstan and Russia. .

Strident prides itself in meeting individual requirements and ensuring quality service and financial reliability to both customers and suppliers.

All business is conducted in US dollars or Euros with some exceptional deals in pounds Sterling.

Representation

On a commission basis and sometimes as a principal or a licensee, Strident Enterprises in co-operation with the Hong Kong company Strong & Partners Holdings, represents many international companies especially in the old Soviet Union area. The area of representation covers clothing, giftware, beverages and some service companies. For example, the American and internationally recognised producer of cigarette lighters and the major American producer of flashlights, are represented. It is also involved in the giftware business sourcing from many areas worldwide. From the UK giftware companies are represented, and from Israel there is an exclusive Agency Agreement to represent the number one fruit juice concentrates’ supplier in Central Asia. Several Hong Kong companies are also represented, including producers of giftware and sales promotion items, luggage, costume jewellery, clothing, cloth for manufacture etc.

Investment

Together in co-operation with Kazakh partners, Strident has invested in the production of cotton and the financing of cotton farmers in South Kazakhstan. As a result of this, Strident has become active in cotton trading in both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Some localised businesses, such as the production of cotton oil are for domestic use within Kazakhstan.

Strident is a partner in a company involved in oil exploration; production of crude and the sale and exploitation of finished products in the old Soviet Union area. Refining is on a toll basis. Strident has been a partner in a related oil transportation company distributing oil products in Kazakhstan and Russia, which involved the owning of a chain of service stations. Strident also operates in other areas of the oil industry.

Strident continues to advise individuals and top companies in Kazakhstan and Russia in particular, often providing legal and accountancy advice.

Investment in land and property is a developing business in which Strident is involved.

Strident works closely with one of the leading banks in Kazakhstan on strategic and other matters.

Education

The education business of Strident is expanding due to its access to business people in a senior responsible position, who want to send their children to school in England. Strident has worked for several English language schools, but has now accepted the exclusive agency of the Bell Language School. This agency covers the whole of the Central Asian area. The school provides not only language tuition but also preparation for university and for going to English public schools. Strident, together with Bell, are offering a scholarship for some two weeks’ free accommodation and tuition at the Bell School in Saffron Walden during the winter months.

Strident works closely in placing children in English public schools, and is especially closely connected to Haileybury College in Hertford. To support this activity, a guardianship service is offered and transportation to and from the airports is another service that is provided.

Strident is an international company that operates in a confidential and flexible way. It has built its business around Tony Stroud’s entrepreneurial skills in the international market. In the last year Strident’s work in Kazakhstan has expanded and been consolidated. Svetlana Karpenko, as local director, is overall responsible for all activities but is joined in the office by Julia Tschevbakova, who works part-time and specialises in students’ educational activities and organising their journeys to and from the U.K., together with the co-operation of the parents. Lydia (Lidiya) Chmut joined the team full-time to work on the juice business where she has specialist experience.
