Cripplegate" Dr Caroline Gordon MA PhD and Deputy Wilfrid Dewhirst CC A detailed and highly informative treatise on our Ward which was published in 1985 to coincide with the election to be Lord Mayor of our then President, the late Sir Allan Davis GBE CA. The publication was supported financially by most of the prominent Cripplegate business houses and the Livery Companies. It features a Foreword by Lord Briggs of Worcester College, Oxford, has 16 Chapters, 2 Appendicies, 16 pages of Illustrations and a comprehensive Index. The initial photograph of Alderman and Mrs Davis is particularly attractive. The volume is bound in a Glossy Paper Cover and has 179 pages. The Authors were greatly respected City figures
both of whom were expert in their knowledge of our history and
painstaking in the months of research necessary for accuracy. |
