Yet again, the weather smiled upon the Cripplegate Ward Club for our guided tour of Clarence House. The Master welcomed a full house of 40 members and guests, split into two groups to tour this important Royal residence. Knowledgeable and entertaining guides ensured we enjoyed the tour at the same time as learning many new things. A glass of Champagne and a wander around the gift shop brought our visit to an end.

Afterwards it was a short walk through St James's Park to the restaurant 'Inn The Park'  where we were very well looked after during a drinks reception overlooking the lake on the outside balcony, followed by a two course supper inside and then back out again for a night cap. A good time was had by all - as shown in a few photos below.

Supporting Information

We will meet at 4.20pm at the London residence of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Clarence House in The Mall.

Starting in the garden, we will see the formal planting added in 2004-5 by the Prince of Wales. Inside the house our tour will take us through five ground floor rooms. Much of Her Majesty's famous art collection is displayed as are superb examples of English porcelain and silver.

As this is an exclusive guided tour it will include the 'Cornwall Room', not seen as part of a normal day visit, where many of The Prince of Wales's watercolours hang. Before leaving the house, we will enjoy a glass of champagne together.

At about 6pm we will make our way across the road to St James's Park  and to an establishment built in 2004 on the edge of the lake called Inn The Park . Here we will enjoy an arrival drink followed by a 2 course supper with wine in idyllic midsummer lakeside surroundings. A finishing time of 8.30pm-9pm is likely. For those wishing to linger further, we have a reserved space in the Roof Terrace Bar to watch the sun go down.
