John Wesley House & Museum followed by lunch at Montcalm Hotel, Shoreditch

The great fire of London 1666 had nothing, compared to on the news I received on the night of the 11th that there had been a fire at the Wesley chapel. After months of planning it came as a bit of a shock. I was pleased to find out that most of Wesley was still open although there was no heating or light. It did give you a sense of what it was really like in Wesley’s day.

Lunch followed at the Mountcalm Hotel where we were all greeted by a glass of fizz, followed by a tasty lunch and a chocolate bunny and Easter egg from mistress Patricia. After lunch we were invited to visit the sixteenth floor to enjoy another glass or two of fizz. This was our first event and I would like to thank our members and guests for making it so enjoyable.

Thank you
