We were quite amazed at the high security at the palace of Westminster. One of our ladies even had her whistle confiscated.
The tour was very interesting as many of our members have an interest in history. Our day included a visit to the Jewel tower. The only medieval building left on the site. The weather was wet although it did not rain until we were inside. It stopped when we came out, started through lunch and stopped again when we left.
A delicious lunch was served in beautiful surroundings. We were joined by the right honourable Mark Field MP for the cities of London and Westminster. Mark gave a great talk and it was very good of him to come to our lunch, with his new position he is very busy.
Our visit to guildhall school of music and drama has proven to be a great success with almost 50 members attending. I’ll give a report in July
