Cripplegate Christmas Party

  Monday 18th Decmber 2017.

The evening started with a visit to St Bartholomew The Great to hear Benjamin Britten’s festival of carols. The service was inspiring there could not be anywhere better to hear this work. The atmosphere in the church is truly amazing.

After the service we went on to dine at Farmer Fletchers Livery Hall which has recently been refurbished. After pre dinner drinks we sat down for dinner which was beautifully presented and delicious, to be rounded off by vintage Port.

Why should Christmas be stuffy? It should be fun that’s why we chose our guest speaker Andrew Brown a member of the Farmers Livery Company, he is a Farmer and past High Sheriff of Rutland, who was very funny and has won many awards for his comedy act. We thought it might be a good idea to add a dash of colour so we finished with a group of Brazilian dancers who went down really well and got us up dancing.

Christmas presents were given to all our members and guests and we feel sure it was a night to remember.

We look forward to our first event in 2018; a visit to the wellcome trust that I understand at the time of writing is over subscribed. A note for your diary is our visit to Bevis Marks Synagogue on February 21st details will be out soon, the visit should be very interesting. Best wishes for 2018
