AGM and Civic Lunch at Guildhall

On a crisp, blue-sky and sunshine Wednesday morning, the new Master - Mr Glynn Jones, officially took office at the Annual General Meeting of the Cripplegate Ward Club, held in The Print Room of Guildhall. As the meeting closed, the new Master was pictured in The Old Library, with the newly elected Officers of the Club before welcoming Guests in the 'Receiving Line' and then onto the reception.

The Club's Honoured Guest was on this occasion Alderman and Sheriff, Dr Andrew Parmley who attended with his wife Wendy. Other special guests of the Master included Alderman John Garbutt and wife Solangela; Mr Stan Sadler, Chairman of the Royal Society of St George (City of Westminster Branch); Mr Mark Field, MP (Member of Parliament for the Cities of London and Westminster), together with his wife Vicki; Professor Barry Ife, CBE (Principle of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama) and his wife Trudi; and The Very Reverend, Father Sergius Scott.

A good meal with excellent wines was then enjoyed. The following photos of our luncheon, with speeches from The Master and from Honoured Guest Sheriff Parmley, give an indication of the fun and laughter that is to be a cornerstone of the new Master's year.
 


 

The Master presented charitable donations to the Aldermanic Sheriff, Dr Andrew Parmley for the  Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund and for the Lord Mayor's Appeal . Thank you letters have been received from the following:
